“think Sesame Street brought to you by the letters L,S and D” -NME

“combining Dr Seuss whimsy, classical miniaturism and the archest humours – with an invitation to dance – Ron and Russel Mael return as only they can” -MOJO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, NY (July 31, 2017- Sparks (featuring Californian brothers Ron and Russell Mael) have just released "Edith Piaf (Said It Better Than Me),” the latest single from their upcoming album Hippopotamus – out September 8 via BMG. The album is available now for pre-order on digital, CD and LP formats. “Edith Piaf (Said It Better Than Me)” premiered last week on BBC Radio 6 Music, and is the third single made available by Sparks in advance of the album release. The track is classic Sparks, the uplifting, hooked-laden music belies the lyrics' melancholic tone. You can listen to the audio below.

Recorded in Los Angeles, Hippopotamus sees Sparks take the pop form, shake it up, and create an album that is adventurous, fresh, and idiosyncratically ‘Sparks.' Described as “the smartest, most consistently evolving band in the history of rock”, and internationally-acclaimed as pop pioneers, Sparks’ music has always been innovative and instantly identifiable.

"Edith Piaf (Said It Better Than Me)" follows the release of the title track and "What The Hell Is It This Time," both playlisted by BBC Radio 6. All three songs are available for download and streaming, and are available instantly with the full album iTunes pre-order.
