WHAT: LOUDWIRE.com premiere of DEAD LETTER CIRCUS’ new video for “I Am”, the group’s latest single from the album The Catalyst Fire (The End Records).
The video, which was filmed in the band’s home city of Brisbane, Australia, was directed by Simon Smith and is the sequel to their last video for the song “Lodestar”.
“We are super pumped to unveil the video for our next single ‘I Am’”, says vocalist Kim Benzie. “The clip, penned by myself and Director Simon Smith is the sequel to the clip for ‘Lodestar’. Set in the possible future where people are being systematically divided, emotionally and spiritually in an almost factory farm way, we follow the journey of the boy as he awakens the sleeping mass and confronts their faceless masters.”

When Dead Letter Circus blasted onto Australian airwaves in 2007, their bombastic yet nuanced take on alternative rock left most observers struggling to process what they were hearing. It was epic, it oozed confidence, it was intense and open all at once. It was the debut of a sound so fresh and unique that it was hard to classify.
Part of the beauty of the soaring, sing-a-long choruses, chiming atmospherics and delay soaked tones of Dead Letter Circus is their escape from easy classification via labels or scenes. But with two #2 records, and This is the Warning going Gold, the message is clear – it’s music that resonates.
With the last 5 national tours SOLD OUT, the band’s videos getting international airplay, and huge stadium shows with Muse and Linkin Park, in 2011 the band lit up the main stage of the Big Day Out outdoor mega-festivals, and scored two songs in the world-famous triple j (Australia’s nationally networked radio station) Hottest 100 Poll. More recently, DLC were voted into triple j’s Hottest Australian Albums of All Time, toured the United States three times, played SxSW, sold out shows in the UK, headlined festivals in South Africa, were voted as one of Red Bull’s Top 11 Rock Acts, a host of US rock and college radio stations jumped onboard, and Total Guitar UK ranked them in their Best Guitar Albums of the Year.
Dead Letter Circus kicks off their ‘Polymorphism’ tour with Karnivool in Australia on January 8, 2014. For a full list of show dates, visit: http://deadlettercircus.com/shows
