Mekon AKA John Gosling To DJ NYC Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
4th Studio Album ‘Piece Of Work’ Now Available via The End Records
Mekon (John Gosling) has been Alexander McQueen‘s house composer for years and has worked with some of the most influential cultural innovators of the last 25 years including Genesis P.Orridge, Goldie, Schoolly D, William Orbit, Afrika Bambaataa, Bobby Gillespie, and Marc Almond. This past Spring he composed the house music for the infamous Chaos To Couture event at the Metropolitain Museum of Art in New York City.
To date Mekon has released three albums ‘Welcome To Tackletown’ (1997), ‘Relax With Mekon’ (2000), ‘Something Came Up’ (2006) and he released his fourth album in the US on The End Records July 9, titled ‘Piece of Work’.
Shimmering amongst ‘Piece Of Work’s dark and menacing electronics are such esteemed music legends as Schoolly D, Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV’s Peter Christopherson, Marco Pirroni from Adam & The Ants, PIG and more, with the album’s 12 tracks ranging from electro rap, industrial techno and Balearic to ambient and neo-classical.
John Gosling will be this year’s NYC Mercedes Benz Fashion Week house composer. Fashion Week runs from September 5- 12th
