Goes Cube Earns Endorsement Deal With Fernandes Guitars
David Obuchowski, guitar player and singer of the critically acclaimed metal band, Goes Cube, and post-wave band Distant Correspondent, has inked an endorsement deal with Fernandes Guitars. A longtime player of Fernandes guitars, Obuchowski will be seen touring and heard recording with, among other Fernandes-made guitars, the highly versatile and already-iconic Fernandes Vertigo. Obuchowski joins other highly recognizable guitar players in endorsing Fernandes products, including Kerry King of Slayer, Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction, and others.
“Since starting Goes Cube in 2003, I’ve gone through countless guitars from the big names to the no-names, and all of them fell short in at least one of the three important factors: sound, feel, aesthetics. Then I got my hands on a Burny (made by Fernandes), and since then every guitar I own, play live, and record with is made by Fernandes. Theirs are the only guitars I know of that play perfectly, sound great enough for the studio, feel comfortable enough for the most intense live shows, and look like works of art.” – David Obuchowski (Goes Cube)
Goes Cube has gained notoriety for two things: their fierce independence, and for being fierce, period. Indeed, the trio is most often described as brutal, heavy, and loud. Their live shows are renowned for not only the volume they are able to produce, but the pure energy with which they perform. Perhaps Stereogum put it best when they cited the band’s “inescapably awesome” “sledgehammer assault.”
Goes Cube have never been your typical musicians. All of them are self-taught, and as such they have a sound and style all their own. They reject the notion of what it typically means to be in a metal band, but their mark is undeniable. After years of touring and recording some of the most eye-opening music, Goes Cube has proven themselves to be one of the most exhilarating bands in America. With critical acclaim from the most highly regarded music publications, and their albums occupying positions on year-end list, Goes Cube has become as influential as they are exciting.
Goes Cube is currently preparing to record their third full-length, the follow-up to their acclaimed second album, “In Tides And Drifts,” which Kerrang! Magazine called a “contender for the album of the year.”
