“Fan-funded band [Hey! Hello!] enters the top 20 in the midweek chart” – BBC Newsbeat

Ginger Wildheart and Victoria Liedtke from Hey! Hello!

Hey! Hello!’s self-titled record is currently sitting at number 12 in the midweek album chart.

Without the backing of a major label, it is outselling Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories and Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience.

The duo are made up of New York singer Victoria Liedtke and Geordie songwriter Ginger Wildheart.

Their music has been described as a blend of music anthems from Abba to punk rockers Green Day.

Last year the pair released a track called How I Survived The Punk Wars, which was championed by Guns N’ Roses bass player Duff McKagan.

“It’s perhaps the best and most real punk rock song in a long, long time. It actually stunned me,” said McKagan.
